Richard L. Jaklitsch

Richard Jaklitsch has been honored again this year by Who's Who in American Law and is listed again in the Bar Registry of Preeminent Lawyers of America. The Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory has ranked Richard Jaklitsch again in the top 1% of personal injury trial lawyers in the United States where he has been ranked every single year since he first obtained an "AV" rating. He is one of the youngest lawyers in the United States to be so honored. This "AV" rating comes from the recommendations of other lawyers and judges who have handled cases with or against Richard Jaklitsch. This is the highest possible grade for legal achievement, legal ability and ethical standards.

Richard Jaklitsch has also been honored as a lifetime member of Strathmore Who's Who and has been honored as a member of Who's Who Among Professionals and Executives. This designation is reserved for those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in their organization, occupation or profession.

Richard Jaklitsch has been consistently in demand as a lecturer who habitually garners the highest ratings as a presenter for the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association, the Prince George's County Bar Association's Tort Law Committee, as well as the Prince George's County/Montgomery County Joint Legal Education Foundation. He is a member of the Bar Associations of Anne Arundel County and Prince George's County, where he served as the Chairman of the Tort Law Committee, and has served as Chairman of the Golf Tournament Committee for the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association. He also worked several years for the Maryland State Bar where he served as the Chairman of the Travel Committee, and is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.

Richard Jaklitsch has been honored as a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation and has been selected to the Board of Governors of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association. Rick has served as an inaugural member of the Marlboro Inns of Court and serves on the Maryland State Bar Association's Judicial Selection Committee. He was honored in 2001 by the ABI, who nominated Richard Jaklitsch as its Man of the Year.

Richard Jaklitsch has received the Prince George's County Bar Association's Prestigious Service Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to both the Bar and the community. Rick has been a long time advisor to the University of Maryland's National Leadership Honor Society, Omicron Delta Kappa, and regularly conducts fund-raising for the University of Maryland at College Park and the University of Maryland Law School where he has repeatedly won awards for being the top fund-raiser since graduating from the Law School with honors in 1983. Richard Jaklitsch also raises funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation and hosts a yearly auction and golf tournament to provide the dying wish of children between two and one-half and 18 years of age.

Richard Jaklitsch's hobbies include skiing and scuba diving. He has been a member of the Prince George's County Bar Association's All-Star Softball Team which has repeatedly won State championships. Rick has coached baseball for St. Hughes and served as an Assistant Coach for Davidsonville Lacrosse, Annapolis Baseball, St. Anne's Baseball, Annapolis Soccer and Riva Basketball. Rick is proudest of his two sons, David and Drew, and of his reputation in the legal community as one of the very finest lawyers who handle personal injury litigation.
