Case Information: Plaintiff's vehicle was rear-ended by an uninsured motorist who fled the scene. The uninsured driver was apprehended by police and determined to be under the influence of PCP. Plaintiff's vehicle was totaled by the impact and she was removed from her vehicle by a rescue squad. She subsequently underwent surgery on her left knee. Defendant Metropolitan Insurance Company was plaintiff's uninsured motorist carrier.
Plaintiff alleged that her automobile was rear-ended by an uninsured motorist and that defendant was obligated to pay her claim for damages pursuant to her uninsured motorist coverage.
